Busy weekend

We had a busy weekend with school fete, mum,s dance practice and horse races.
On Saturday the kids had their school fete. It is held only every two years. So it is a big deal for the kids.
I know when i was young our school fete consisted of toffee apples and cake stalls and a few lucky dips.
WOW how times have changed.

James is on the left at the end.

love the big dipper

James slimeing a school teacher. Got him a good one too!

Front row closest to you is our daughter doing a hip hop dance display

i took this pic while i was searhing for my 12 yr old for over 1hr. found him up on the college ovals playing rugby.

James in the black tee - first time on the ROUND UP and poor little man got off and vomited his ice slushie back up. TIME TO GO HOME
So i dropped the kids home and took off to the MUM,S DANCE practise. Talk about funny. I will take a few pics and blog them on our next practise day.

Then on Sunday we went up to Caloundra - Sunshine Coast to watch our DONKEY - i mean horse race.

Degree of Honor - number 4

LAST PLACE

Not happy as Jack thought he was going to win plenty

James is happy as he isnt sitting in the middle for the 2 hr drive home

Gaby reading the form.

The day ended with enough for KFC on the way home and we all agreed even though our horse didnt win we all still had a great day out with minimal damage to our wallet.

PS "the house should start any day now - fingers crossed"

Hol(e)y SOCKS.

How many time does one mum have to ask the kids not to wear their socks outside??????
Is it just my boys? Please tell me not!

With only 4 weeks left of the school year i have told the boys they have to put up with their holey socks as blah blah blah you know where i am heading..........
I saw Jack our 12yr old wearing another pair of socks under his school socks today so what did a sucker of good mother do, she slipped him $8.50 - i know $8.50 for 1 pair -  and sent him to the school uniform shop this morning.
I can hear you all. That isn't teaching them a lesson. I know :P (but how uncomfortable is wearing socks with holes in them)
Boys will be boys and i sure hope they will one day understand all my frustration...
Have a great weekend. Mine is a full one....

Mothers Dance

5 & 1/2 weeks till ballet concert, YES you heard me right Ballet concert.
Our 14yr old daughter has her annual ballet concert early December, and it is the mums turn to do a dance. Each year the studio either gets the dads to dance or the mums.
Last year the dad's danced to "It's raining men" ( i know, how original) the year before that us mums did HAIRSPRAY.
Our dance this year is the Glee version of "LET'S GET PHYSICAL"
There are 15 mums doing the dance and Mr Martin, one of the teachers at the studio is our choreographer . It is so funny. He is married to a ballerina who dances with the QLD Ballet and this is his first year with doing a mums dance. We are loud and crazy (as there wouldnt be any shy mums doing the dance) and we want him to be in the dance in his red speedos (just like the film clip) and we all dance around him.
Well that is of course not happening but we still try each week to change the dance.
We have practice every Saturday at 4 - 5pm. We take turns in who brings the wine and we learn about 20 seconds of the dance each week (well we cant remember much more than that at one time). So we have been practicing for almost 4 weeks now and we have learnt about 1min of a 4 min dance.
So much improvising will be done on the night.
We are to all wear fluro or black tights, coloured leotards or shorts, leg warmers, sweat bands etc.....

and of course we will all look like Olivia did.
So i am off to eat more lettuce as OMG i need too!

GC 600 Weekend

Yes, well after many years of the kids asking, begging to go to the GC 600 we gave in and we went on Sunday.
We were um ing and arr ing on to drive or bus it. We drove and to our surprise we found many parking spaces in Tedder ave (extremely close to the track, if you know the gold coast area). So we slapped on the sun screen and headed in. General admission tickets $80 each us and kids under 12 are FREE. Our 14 yr old daughter still looks like a 12 yr old so we snagged that.
My hubby insisted we walk around the track first before we found a spot to sit for the day. So we did just that and my middle child came up to me and said he had tears in his eyes with such excitement. Ohhhhh Love him xxx
We brought the boys a GC 600 cap and found our spot.
Best part was people watching.

Gotta love this chic, she had no teeth and was thinking she looked like a promo girl. i watched her for hours. Her and her man were having so much fun.
The entertainment was Vanessa Amorosi but as we couldnt see her though she sounded great. Then these motorbike freaks came onto the track. They were unbelievable.

Our shady spot

what a great job. Water Police
The overall day was fantastic, even the food was great and no line ups. We spent $100 on food/drinks and we were back home within half hr of the finish time.

Of course walking back to the car i am checking our house colours.
It is my birthday tomorrow. I wonder if i wake up to a present, as normally they all go shopping the afternoon of my birthday. I will let you know.

Enjoy your day

Decisions, Decisions.....

Now i am getting confused...
This is a major decision and i so don't want to make the wrong one.
I keep going back to white with white stone features . Maybe just to be safe i guess.
Here are a few pics i keep looking at.

This is my house, but i don't want this new paneling that is in the drawing
I like these colours but not sure where to place them

and i also like just the dark brown with the white and slightly lighter timber roller door and front door (i would go a bit deeper than the roller door colour that is in this pic though)

But this is my favorite. i love whatever is around the roller door. So this could be it, Your opinions PLEASE
Do i need to go to my builder and get the people that did the 3D images of the plans to do some up in colour. IS THIS POSSIBLE. (as i don't want to start annoying my builder already)

We are also having a rendered fence out the front with an electric gate.

God, i don't know how i am going to get through this build and it hasn't even started yet! So thought i knew what i wanted but as you can see, i have NO idea.....

I will love any of your thoughts.

Cheers

3D Image

OMG OMG OMG.

Not sure what i think yet! Not sure if i even like it!

I will need loads of help from all of you out there, and i will love any suggestions. PLEASE.
The land should be registered on  Monday 10th October, then plans can go to council (just waiting on the plans including the pool and front fence and we will submit them together)
Not sure if this is the norm, but they say it can be 4 weeks minimum for approval.

So sometime in November the building will start.

That paneling wont be happening, don't like that!

This is my pic, i hope i can have something like this!

I am getting very excited now,

I have wasted my day on the computer so i need to go eat and then hang washing out, then that will be time to go pick the kids up and visit a friend who just had a baby,

Till my next blog,
                         Be Good

Letter for u

I just had to share this.

School went back for us today and this is what came home with our youngest son, James. He is 9 in December and is in Grade 3.
He asked if he could check the mail box when he got home and i said "sure", then he came inside and gave me a letter addressed to Mr & Mrs Barns etc...

This is a keeper.

Happy end of day for me,
off to cook lasagne for the family's dinner tonight.
