Row Row Row your boat....

Well i think this is how the kids may be getting home from school today (in a boat), this rain isn't giving up or going away any time soon.
A lot of the schools have closed due to the weather however not our school, thank GOD!
Just as you think it has stopped down it comes again.
A good time to send the kids out the back Cane Toad hunting i guess.

Fence has seen better days

Waterways are at their maximum

Back entry to the kids school

The local cricket oval
AND as for the house. It is fairing pretty good. I am very happy with the lay of the land as the run off isn't pouring into the house cut as bad as i thought.

I spoke to the builder today and as soon as this rain goes they are ready to hook in. He will go up on Monday and get the pump into any water that is still laying around the house and hopefully most of it will have cleared up and they can get stuck into it through out next week

I have drawn up an idea of how i would like my Laundry to look.

The top pic is looking out to the back yard and the bottom pic is the other side (obviously). I think having the 5 open spaces will be good for each family members folding & ironing pile. That way i can get them to come and collect their own stuff and it is still up and out of the way if they don't.
                                                         YOUR THOUGHTS?

Here are some selections i have made in regards to Kitchen appliances

ILVE Built in Microwave

ILVE Rangehood

Take away all the clutter from the benches and the bench top colour and lower the top cupboards & remove the draw knobs this is how the kitchen may look as i am toying with the colour of the splash back....

I would love the timber bulk head......cross my fingers. Our floor will look like this floor along with a white kitchen

SAECO Coffee Machine

Fisher & Paykel Intergrated Dishwasher

We have a nook in our Media room which has the celler located off it and this could be the start of an idea of use of space. Stay tuned?????

ILVE Free standing Oven/stove

Well there you have it.
I feel i am getting through the list of THINGS TO DO,
Till next time,

Back to school

I wish every day was like the first day back at school.
The boys set their alarms for 6.30am and shock horror they actually got up. Gaby goes back tomorrow, so i let her enjoy her last sleep in.
Showered, dressed and ready for breakfast by 7am.
Then nagging ME to get ready to take them to school.
So in the car by 7.45am and i was at school by 7.55am.
Pouring rain so i did the DUMP & RUN.....before all the crazy Prep mothers arrived...

Jack gets so over me taking photos..

Have a good day boys!

Oh well not the best day to go back to school but for me i will enjoy a quiet house.

HOUSE PROGRESS

NOT!!!!!!!!!
Rain is stopping anything from happening as it needs to be bone dry for the builder to water proof so they can begin the frame work.....
and that doesn't look like it will be happening for at least a week or two
so in the mean time we still go up every now and again...

We had some friends up on holidays from inter state and who follow my blog so wanted to have a look.

Gaby & Makayla have known each other since birth and have kept in touch since we moved.
Gaby is 4 months OLDER than Makayla. (NB: Gaby standing next to the dog)

We took the dog up for the first time. Not that i let Gaby put her down as it was so muddy.

So while this rain is around i am trying to make decisions on tiles, wall colours, render colours, window frame colours, benchtops, etc....... i am so bad at making a final decision that i think i need others just to make the decisions for me.....A BAD HABBIT I HAVE HAD FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found Timber look aluminum windows and doors but they are even more pricier than the real timber ones. So i guess i wont be having them either. BUT GEE they are nice......

I may of solved my butlers pantry problem???

This afternoon i have been going over all my kitchen images that i have saved in the computer from various websites. I came across this image and had an IDEA!!!!!!!!!!

I think this could be a blog that i follows pantry. Let me know if it is yours.
So i started to try and draw up a kitchen plan that would give me this space. I came up with this. Let me know your thoughts.
I will place my toaster, microwave and maybe my coffee machine in this space as well, keeping the kitchen clutter free.

Sorry i couldn't turn this image. I tried many times.
So i am very proud of myself, i just hope the kitchen man can make it all work.

Signing out one happy girl,
Pen :)

PS" Talk about solid as a rock". Concreters came back today and filled all the bricks with concrete.

Change of plans...

After a lengthy meeting with my builders Mick & Steve, we have decided to ditch the scullery and go with the full kitchen look. AND yes i have blocked off the entry into the laundry too.
I know, i know i am hearing you all think i am crazy but after trying to fit, rather squash all the appliances in i wasn't going to achieve an open look. I was going to clutter it more. And as a friend said. with the qld climate the open plan is more appropriate to the way of life up here. Even though the butlers pantry is almost every women's dream.
(if i regret it that much when it is finished i will just have to build again)
I have my utmost faith in my builders so i am happy with the decision.

I have also moved my bathroom around in Bed .

It will look similar to this image
The basins will be opposite the bath and a glass screen will be where the basins are in this image with a shower behind the screen. Not in this style though....

So the steel frames will be ordered today and they will take about 2weeks to get here. So progress will slow until then.
The footings are almost, if not already complete.

I have been taking a pic at the same place every time i go to the block. Once the house is complete we will put them together into a power point or something and watch it come together in a moving image.

side storage access for garbage bins, bikes etc...

This wall (end of garage wall) will continue right up to the top level. We are going to put sandstone paneling/cladding/tile/whatever????  all the way up as a feature.

Feeling very relaxed today.
Massive day doing nail clients. first client arrives at 730am and last client to leave at 6pm....

Enjoy your day,

& and thank you so much for all your input yesterday before and after....
