Something, please!......

SOMETHING, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
This is how i am feeling at the moment.
Nothing has been done on the house since early January. Yes we have had heaps of rain, totally understand that.
It just gets disheartening when everything stops.
I can only keep my fingers crossed that SOMETHING happens soon.

I now have a lovely garden of weeds.

The real problem at the moment is that the ground needs to be dry for them to waterproof before the second level goes up. It doesn't help that it is raining most afternoons.
 So for now;

We have moved into the apartment in Broadbeach. I am enjoying the beach life as is our dog Daisy. We head out every morning and afternoon for a wee walk or a number 2 walk.
This morning i took a few pics of the homes along Hedges ave. The stone features are big up here.

imagine how much just the art feature cost

I like the stone feature here surrounding the entry gates. i will try do this is my budget allows

Here i am at the end of Hedges ave about to head back to Broadbeach

I wonder if he caught anything

Good Morning Gold Coast.
So with all this to look at there is no excuse to stay in bed.

I also just need to brag about my favourite person ATM. He is my nephew HENRY. He is almost 5 months old.
He had his first taste of pumpkin the other day.

Love him

What do I do with this?

I have had this for many many years. I have slowing got rid of all my other pieces but I seem to not be able to let go of this. I am thinking of painting it white with glass knobs or I have thoughts of it being black with glass knobs. All you crafting girls out there HELP. What do I do with it?

Happy Valentine's Day

We don't really do the Valentine's Day thing at our place.
Since we have a Wedding Anniversary to celebrate i don't really feel the need to go all out.
So what i normally do is go into Darrel Lee and i purchase tiny wrapped heart chocolates and place them either on their bed in the morning or in their lunch boxes. I wasn't organised this year so
today i left a box of chocolates on the kitchen bench for us all to share tonight.

Happy Valentine's Day
I am about to start packing today. Yippy! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers

2 weeks notice

We are moving OUT.
Yep as crazy as it seems we are moving out.
Our lease ran out in January 2012. In November 2011 we spoke to the owners (who live in Melbourne) and the agent and they all new our situation. That we are building a house and at that time it was hopefully going to be finished by April 2012.

As you are all aware it has been non stop rain since Christmas and April is just not going to happen for us.
We received a notice in the mail a couple of weeks ago stating we are to vacate the property by 6th April.
We called the realestate agent and asked why we have been given a date to leave when we had agreed that we will give them/owners at least 6 weeks notice before we would be ready to leave. They said the owners want to come up and stay (in an empty house) over Easter. WTF.
We offered to pay their 10 day stay in at Broadbeach in a 4.5 star 2 bed 2 bath room apartment, at a cost to us of $2,500.00 as it is Easter holidays and we got a NO back.

Unbealivable.?????

They have started to advertise the property to be available again to rent from the 17th April. So the owners are seriously coming up to stay in here. OMG

As we have no lease with them at the moment, we have given them today 2 weeks notice. Which means they will be out of pocket around 6grand between now and the 17 April. Who is the fool now?

I have been extremely lucky to find short term accommodation at the Mantra Sierra Grand.
It is a 3 bed, 2 bath fully furnished apartment. Need to bring nothing but our clothes, food and computer.

Front entry

Living area

3 hr time limit on the media room

In door pool

Loving this gym

We unfortunately don't have this view. We will see the high rollers arriving via helicopter at the Casino instead

After a few weeks reality will hit and it may become squashy but we have the beach at our door step and plenty of out door activities to keep us entertained. Oh and did i mention Restaurants......

More so, it takes the pressure off the builders for a quick finish and they can concentrate on building me a home that wont fall to pieces cause it was thrown together in a hurry. We can stay until August BUT gee we are hoping for the end of May 2012 for the house to be finished.

Now to find a removalist and a storage shed.

All because of a 10 day holiday stay from unreasonable, selfish, owners...(i could say more)

Have a great weekend,

Nothing, Zero Zip...

Nothing has happened up at the house block.
Rain has been the main factor as the house can't be water proofed until the ground is bone dry.
I have spoke to the builder today and he will be on site as of tomorrow so hopefully it will start to come together soon.
In the mean time i am trying to choose kitchen bench/vanity colour. Do i have high gloss or a satin finish. Do  i use Vivid white or Antique white USA in Dulux.
As most of you know i am incorporating timber throughout the house, including out door beams and the stair case & front door. So i am after that fresh but warm white.
Please comment if you have any suggestions. Once i have chosen the colour i then can carry on and choose the ceaserstone bench colour etc...

On the week end we ventured up to Caloundra. Our boys were in the State Championships.
It was a fun time for them. They both made the semi-finals. The kids were disappointed but still were happy that they gave it their all and were unlucky to miss out on a Grandfinal game.

Stupidly we left at 3pm and hit Bruce Hwy traffic at 4pm peak hour Friday afternoon.

We amused ourselves by watching the lady in front of us fold clothes.

Our Jack is number 8

Here is James in deep thought. He is next to the lady in the blue top

James Number 2
A long story (for another day) We ended up staying at Twin Waters Novotel as the accomodation that we had booked in at Caloundra wasn't what the website protrade.

We have stayed here many times and the kids love it. Just wished we didn't have to go back to the OzTag carnival the next day as we only just settled in.
So we headed back to Caloundra on Sunday morning around 10am as the first game wasn't till 11am. Then as the kids went out in the semi's, it was time to head home again.

I think Jack is thinking of what couldv'e been.
Always next year,

Just as i said the builder will be on site tomorrow. It is about to storm.

Just like the good ol' days

The kids are so sick of this rain, although it hasn't stopped them from getting out in it and having some fun.
I just had to CLOSE MY EYES.

I didn't have much kitchen liquid soap left after this.

We are heading off to Caloundra tomorrow for 2 nights. The boys are playing in the State Championships for OzTag. OzTag for those who don't know, is very much like touch footy but they can kick on the last and they have tags that u have to pull off instead of touching the player. Having to actually take 1 tag off is a lot harder than you think and removes any false calls for touch.

HOUSE NOTES:
I am waiting on 2 kitchen layouts from my kitchen man. I am slowly coming to reality that i may not be able to have the pantry. (it is just going to be to squashy)
I have some great ideas for the kitchen in other areas so i think i will be able to live without the pantry.
(well maybe)
At the moment i have come across a mirror splash back. So this is what i am wanting now. I think it may also help with opening the kitchen up too.

Here is a mirror splash back.
So lets hope the sun shines all weekend and then on Monday i may have some action at the house block.

Cheers
