I think i am just thinking to long...

When the tough gets going, the going STOPS. (I don't even know if that is how you say it, but it is how i feel)
OMG the rain!!!!!!!!
I actually have a dull pain going right through me when we have rain. As this house still has no roof and every time we get close it rains.
The steel guys are STILL doing the frames. It is like, 1 day on, 3 days off kind of job. The sun is out now as it has been raining all morning, but i am sure they are not rushing up to the house to finish up the job.
My windows are arriving tomorrow and may be put in down the bottom Friday.
In the mean time.

Kids are all back at school THANK GOD! I do enjoy the break from packing lunches and doing the school run but gee it is nice to actually have food in the cupboards and money in my wallet again. As when they are home all they want is food and money.

I have been trying to make decisions on my bathrooms.
I know that i am having dark tiles on the floor 600x600 and white tiles on the wall 600x300.
My cupboards will be white, the same as the kitchen BUT i want the caesarstone bench top to be different from the kitchen bench top colour. In the kitchen i am using a new caesarstone colour called Ocean Foam
Ocean Foam
For the bathroom i am thinking to slightly change it up and put caesarstone Shitake (new) on the tops.

Shitake
Or stay safe and use Osprey or the Ocean Foam (from the kitchen)

Osprey

I think i am just thinking to long and find myself confused. So maybe i should just play safe and keep it white...

Here is a pic of how the bathroom floor will look along with the white free standing bath
Remembering i am having white cupboards
I am also following the dark tile up the end wall like this image has
Your thoughts on the bench top colour please,

  1. Go the Shitake, Pen! I love it!!! I also love the same/same, but different concept. Keeping the cupboards the same, but mixing up the benchtops. Shitake is gorgeous and will just give an extra element of depth to the bathrooms.

Sucks that those steel guys are so slow. I often think to myself, 'If you just get the job done, you won't have to go back there. So just do it!' I hope they man up and get finished soon, so that the house can get moving.

  2. Sorry to throw a spanner in the works but I used a different colour top in my bathrooms but ended up at great cost changing the stone back to white as it threw a different colour from when you combined it with a white wall tile and white vanity. Make sure you check it first. White is always safe in bathrooms and you can add colour through the floor tile and accessories. Just a thought.

  3. Go the shitake it will add a nice depth and richness to the bathroom. Also, overtimes makeup can stain the lighter ceasarstone. allison

  4. Hi Pen. I love the Shitake colour. I would still consider it to be a 'neutral' but will add warmth to your chosen palette. Are you sure about a 600mm sq tile for floor in bathroom? That's pretty big and more difficult to get falls to wastes' etc... When we do 600 x 300 walls, we use a 300 sq floor tile or do 400 sq on floor and run same up feature wall as you've suggested. Just a 'thought'.

  5. Hey Pen,

Sorry to hear that your frames have come to another stand still!
    Bloody rain!!! aarrhhh!

I have a different take on your vanity top, if it's the last photo you like most & that is the depth of your floor tile & your vanity is white,
I would be looking at darker counter tops. (Just a thought)

I'm with KL on the floor tile situation, unless you have a very large space to work with, getting your falls right can be tricky, a 300x300 may be the way to go.

OR really insist that your tiler can assure you that your falls will work and your main bedroom and or hallways won't flood. (or that water will flow back onto the bathroom floors)
I've seen it all turn to poo too many times, because falls are all wrong.

Running your floor tile up the back wall as a feature looks amazing, we have done that in a few homes it looks amazing.

Don't do your head in love, just pray for the rain to GO AWAY!!!
    I know I am!

    Have a great day.
