Well guess what i just realized? that is NOT reality.
My sister who lives 15 hrs away pointed out to me yesterday that my fridge space was only 450cm in depth and not much wider either. The bath in my bed room was only 1560 long, not long enough for a grown man.
She was like "havent you gone over your plans?"
I have been so excited about just having my own home again i havent really thought about the nitty gritty things.
Now the builders are back we are having a meeting with them today at 3 to go over everything.
My kitchen is concerning me now as i need to make the space larger for the fridge.
People are telling me to ditch the Scullery (butlers pantry) and open up the kitchen to be a nice open plan space.

It is also 40degrees up here in QLD today and i would love to be in the pool.
1 hr to go before we go sit with the builder.
Just before i head off i just thought of something.
Do i do free standing baths or built in?

Free standing look beautiful but built-in are almost always more practical, cheaper and easier to clean. I probably wouldn't worry about a free standing bath unless it's for a feature bathroom. The block is looking great :)
ReplyDeleteYou've already met with the builder by now - sorry Pen, we had a blackout, therefore no internet!!
ReplyDeleteThe bath in the ensuite is an easy fix - you could maintain the right side entry to the ensuite and run a longer bath towards the external wall. You could have a cutout in the wall so as to retain a view of the basins/mirror and then have a lovely pendant light over the bath. I can send you a photo of something similar if you'd like.
As for the fridge. The symmetry might be a bit off, but you could extend the fridge space towards the front elevation and cut off the additional shelving in the pantry. Your scullery space (and the fact that it leads into the laundry) is fantastic, and I wouldn't want to lose that if I were you.
Let us know how you went with the builder! And, if you need any help with suppliers etc, just holler!
