End of week 1

The end of week 1:
Friday afternoon i went up to see if the excavate had finished. And yes to me it looks like he has.
Holes are all dug.
We could be on target for a slab by Friday. The weather seems to be looking pretty good right up till Christmas Day, so keep your fingers crossed for me as i want a Slab party for NYE!
Hubby, kids and i want to sit up on the block on NYE and watch the fireworks. Well it is my silly idea but i think it will be fun.

Love my view as i am sure you are all aware of. It changes all the time.

The rock they were chipping through

Here is my husband Jason checking it all out

Yesterday we went up to Masters and had a walk through. We were in there for over 1hr walking up and down every isle. Wow that place has everything.

I want one! This is a coffee machine at the top, below that is a grill then below that is a small oven, which i think is great for heating up things like hot chips, fish fingers, party foods etc...All for a lazy 7grand........
Dont think Santa will be reading this blog some how

Rock bottom

 Day 5

We arrive on site today and find the concreter is there but has hit solid rock and has got the excavator in to break it up. He said that the excavator should be finished tomorrow. Monday he will get ready for the brickies to come in on the Tuesday to box it up. Wednesday they Rio it up (not sure if that is the right lingo) & Thursday he will get it ready for the pour on Friday. If the weather holds out this is the plan. Otherwise the slab wont be done till around the 9th January. The concreter doesn't really want to come back after xmas so he is going to be doing his best to get it all done by next Friday.

Steve the builder

Shaun or Shane the concreter (didn't quite catch his name)
They tell me if this was a normal block without the rock he would of had it all done in one day and ready to pour the next......
At least it will be ROCK SOLID. Which makes me wonder if the ground is rock solid why is there a need to be doing all this.

I didn't stay and chat to long as i didn't want to stop them working....
Back to it boys

I will head up tomorrow afternoon and hope it is all finished as it did look very time consuming.

Lasagne is in the oven cooking for dinner tonight, boys are out the front with the neighborhood kids playing NERF wars and my 14 year old daughter is laying on the lounge after working 4 and a half hrs today. ha!

Oh, and hubby is studying wines on the computer as he has a great wine collection and is looking forward to the cellar and storing it all correctly instead of in boxes in a cupboard.

Time for a good red,

Day 2

Inside i am busting with excitement. I want to sit and watch all day. We have been waiting awhile to build again and our time is here.
The weather on the Gold Coast is looking good for the rest of the week so it could be that we have the lower level slab by Friday. The builder is a saying 10th April 2012 is his target date to have it complete.

As Jode from 'life on the river' said "it is one hell of a cut"

If he could he would get in and start it for sure.

Here is Jack trying out the new surroundings.

The view standing on the block looking to the right. A few blocks have been sold on the other side of the road so far but nothing down from us.

The view to the left. The block this side is not sold yet but the one next to that has sold.

This is the view from the Back of the block. I am standing behind our back fence which has a great walking/bike path

Here is the path. As we were there two ladies and their dogs walked past.

Boys are loving this and talking about all that they will be able to do out here on their BMX's

No excuses for me to get out for a walk. How good will the hills be. My butt will be sexy if i can do these hills every day.
I have decided not to go up to the block today and leave it till tomorrow and then again Friday.
It is only a 10min drive from where we live so i will see if i can keep my word.

I spotted this house yesterday in Broadbeach

This is what we will be doing kind of

Enjoy your day,

Walk with Daisy

My daily morning walk at 5am is great to clear the mind.I just need to step it up and walk again in the arvo. As that 2nd walk really makes a difference when trying to get weight off. (which i always am)
I wake at 4.50am and i am dressed, teeth brushed and out the front waiting for my friend Megan by 5am.

Waiting on the steps for Megan
My boys have been on holidays for over a week now and most days they entertain them selves.
At the end of our street we have a small walk way. The boys have been taking down shovels and rakes and god knows what else to create a bike track.
They come home filthy but happy. All the kids in the street join in and they ride on it for hours. Yesterday it was raining so that was heaps of fun for them but i when my youngest walked in the door in his new WHITE t shirt he got yesterday for his birthday of his Aunty Prue with Mongoose written all over it (just like his bike) with mud splats all over it i wasn't the happiest. (nothing that a good soaking can't fix)

Today i am getting stuck into some xmas shopping. Just not sure what to get the hubby yet?
All i want for xmas is another Thomas Sabo bracelet $59
I love these. They lady in the shop has 3 of these on her wrist with 3 charms on each. It look so nice.

Maybe santa will read my blog

Have a great day all,

Ready Set Go !

Yes, finally the day as come.
We drove up to the block on Saturday to meet with the builder Mick and we were surprised to see the digger hard at work.

lower level

James is just a tad happy.
View on the 10.12.11 - the weather for next week is forecast for showers. The builder is hoping to have the lower level slab done by Friday and steel frame up by xmas.

Only last week the rescue helicopter had to save a dirt bike rider who slid off the edge of the hill behind us into dense bushland. Something to look forward to, NOT!

Solid foundation - ROCK

I am getting excited now, as the builder said it is all go go go.
