Latest happening's

Over the last few days plenty has been going on. We still have renderer's finishing up out the back of the house and should have the front of the house finished this coming week.
The painter has started and the tiler is well under way. The front door went in. Timber ceilings have begun.
I have found things i would never do again and it is way to late to change them but big lessons learnt in regards to a few things. I will go into more detail as i get to them.

 The tiler is working his butt off this week to complete all the tiling which is wonderful. The carpet man came and measured up. Our builder Steve is doing his best to get us in on time. Having spent some time on the block i can see how frustrating it can be for a builder when you rely on tradies to turn up on the correct day, then they don't and then to make sure their job done is correct. Things turn up on site wrong and have to be taken away. Which can take days before it is back on site. etc.....
No-wonder a man drinks! lol

I have been extremely happy with our builder and we couldn't of picked a better man for the job. He has put up with me & my indecision's and phone calls every day to him sometimes 3 or 4 times a day.

I am sure he will be happy to finally hand the house over to us.

This Sunday (Fathers day) our son Jack will be playing in his first competition rugby league Grandfinal.
Last night the footy club held a grandfinal dinner for all 7 Burleigh teams that made it through.
Some mum's and i made a banner for the boys to run through on grandfinal day while the boys had their last training run.
Nate Myles from the Gold Coast Titans came and presented the teams with their jerseys along with a local junior Jamie Dowling who is now contracted to the Titans as well. They then listened to a video from Wayne Bennett.
I don't know who is more nervous Jack or ME!

A great bunch of boys who have become great mates.

 The boys have been undefeated this year & also won the Presidents Cup this season.
Goodluck to the boys and let's bring home the trophy!

It is finally here!

The window in my kitchen that i have been waiting for is finally here.
After 2 attempts to get the size correct. 3rd time lucky, it arrives and fits in place perfectly.

There was a lot of rock to dig threw but they finally got there.

It was really cool to watch how it all comes together.

Now to choose the pool colour. Pail blue, clear blue, dark blue. Not to mention the tile band colour.. Suggestions on this please.

It has been a hive of activity at the block for 2 weeks now and with the gyprock almost complete and the kitchen caucus due in any day now it looks like they are on target.

I will have Vivid white doors and skirting boards with Builders White on the ceiling. The main wall colour i am not totally sure on yet. I am after a White but cant choose between Antique USA or Hog Bristle Half. Leaning more toward the Hog Bristle Half at the moment. Need to make a decision on this VERY soon as i think the painter will be starting Monday with the ceilings and priming wall coat.

The exterior painting of the house has  also begun.  Half Dune is the main colour and Woodland Grey as the feature colour.

Just need the scaffolding to come down so i can have a real look at it.

Fancy fence

I have always admired these Architectural Screens.
I made a phone call to a local business who makes them. I spoke to a very lovely helpful lady who told me when asked "if they were only for the wealthy" that they were actually more affordable than you would think.
So i have done some research and i need a CAD drawing of what i would like.Before i can get a quote. Husband said straight away "we are NOT getting one" - we will see. hehe

More windows

This window was my kitchen servery window however it arrived the wrong size (to short in height). So we reordered a new kitchen window and put this window out here in our patio area. This wall was only to be a half wall and i was going to put timber slats in the open space. Having the window here now will protect us from the winds in winter as well as give us a breeze on those stinking hot summer days.
Under the window will be a BBQ kitchen bench and a pizza oven. The open space you can see on your right will be a glass pool fence.

                      The entry window arrived and needed 6 men to put it in place.

Bottom windows are all in now too.

Today the final windows should arrive. These are the 2 kitchen windows and the ones i have been most excited to see. I will head up to the block after school pickup to see if they did arrive.

Our middle child Jack headed off on his Year 7 school excursion to Sydney/Canberra & Jindabyne.
They flew out of Coolangatta airport Sunday morning at 7am (all 200 of them) and will arrive home late Friday night.

I am eagerly awaiting the schools website update on their adventures.
