ONE DIRECTION

Yes after my post "mother of the year goes too" the day finally arrived.

As you can imagine it was CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!

Gaby, Olivia, Ruby & Jess (Ballet friends)

The concert started at 630pm with opening acts "Justice Crew & Johnny Ruffo" before One Direction came on about 9pm. At about 830pm it was lock down for the Convention Centre. They allowed all parents to stay in the concert Hall and kicked every other crying girl out who didn't have a ticket. (and there were many)
These girls were 3rd in line at a Ticketek outlet when the tickets went on sale and MISSED OUT. They had been following One Direction's every move since they arrived in Brisbane.

The Gold Coast's local radio station 90.9 sea FM (Charli From HI-5 is one of the breakfast radio crew) were lucky enough to interview Niall, Zayn & Harry (sad i know their names) and gave them a Gold Coast Titans jersey.

I then star spotted Shelly Craft (you can see her interview with them on Funniest Home Videos this Saturday) and did the groupie thing and chased after her as i had to get my pic with her so i could Tweet Katrina from the Block

Here are us mums, one dad & a big sister (who generously gave her ticket up so her younger sisters best friend could go). Poor Giorgia sat there listening through the doors at times to her favorite songs that she could hear. PS" check out her gorgeous black heels"
Our entertainment was watching the security guys pulling out kids who were caught using video cameras, as well as watching girls without tickets trying to make up crazy stories on how they were the No1 Direction Fan and it was their birthday and in tears.

The concert finished around 10pm - The girls came running out with the biggest smiles on their faces telling me how Harry looked straight at them and OMG they are so amazing which slowly turned to sadness as they then started to talk, teenage talk about "how they are going to miss them, how they wont see them now for 5 hundred and something days until they return"
YES they are returning in Sept 2013. Ticket sales go on sale NEXT WEEK. What the?????
That is never heard of. 18 mths before the show. PINK/ LADY GAGA only go on sale around 6mths before. Gaby thinks she is getting herself the $399 dollar ticket.

UHMMMM (big sigh) Just as i thought it was all over......

Enjoy the weekend. It is raining here.

  1. How exciting! I couldn't even get on to the Ticketek website to buy tickets, so I know how those poor girls felt.

How clever is the marketing, though, selling the tickets now whilst the hysteria is still rife!!! Although, anything could happen in eighteen months, seems a little OTT for my liking.

    Have a great weekend

  2. You are a wonderful mum Penny and it sounds like the girls had a great time. My friend was discussing how her 12 year old daughter wants to go next time and how nervous she would be. I will have to let her know that you were able to wait for them close by, that may help! I am happy I came by and found your blog. Have a great week! xx

  4. What a fabulous night! Aren't you a great Mum! I saw that picture of you and Shelley on twitter. Well done!
Girls are so different to boys aren't they? I can't imagine doing what you just did, although I did sit in a stadium of screaming Roar fans last weekend!

  5. The things parents do for their kids <3

    Love it!

Tickets selling 18months in advance? I wonder if they are worried they might go out of fashion by the time they come back?
