Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Last night my daughter Gaby and i went up to Brisbane to see the musical
MARY POPPINS.
As most young girls, this was always a favorite of mine and WOW what a show.
We left the Gold Coast around 430pm which was giving us plenty of time to get through peak hr traffic and have dinner.
Of course i took the Elizabeth st exit and BAM i was stuck right in the middle of the city in the crazy traffic. So that took me about 40 mins to do a loop and get back over the Victoria Bridge to QPAC.  We finally arrive at the theatre around 630pm. Just enough time to grab a quick bite to eat and make our way to our seats.

We were seated in the middle of centre stage front row of the highest tier. Not the best seats but seats. Of course i got in trouble for taking photos inside the theatre. (didn't stop me of course)

Here we are. I took about 10 pics before i approved of this pic.
The show was amazing. Just like the movie. The characters were so perfect. My favourite act was "Step in time" the dancing was incredible.

Perfect in every way
How perfect Verity was for the role of Mary Poppins.

 BERT - "I does what i likes...and i likes what i do"
Again Matt was the perfect choice for the role of Bert. The casting was spot on for all the characters.

This act had me wanting to sing along.
STEP IN TIME

Never need a reason, never need a rhyme, never need a reason "Step in time"

Anything can happen if you let it

This is at the finale when Mary Poppins fly's over the top of us and into the night sky/ceiling and disappears.

The children were so talented and i did wonder how the kids would get through a long production like this with day & night shows. As you can see there is 4 of each and obviously they have a roster of who performs on which night etc....
As we were leaving we noticed we had walked past the Stage Door. This pic is of the young boy who played the part of Michael Banks, i am thinking he is Jai Bofinger from the Gold Coast. Extremely talented to say the least. We were hoping Matt Lee was going to walk out so Gaby could have a pic with him as she is a die hard dancer and fan of his. Not to be...
Back to the Gold Coast just before midnight.

I look forward to the next musical coming our way...

Pen :)

  2. Haha, yes, that is definitely Jai (his mum is the one with curly brown hair) - him and his three other siblings go to my school (eldest is a good friend of mine). Glad to know you enjoyed it, I love musical theatre myself. :D
