We still seemed to have plenty to do...
I took our daughter Gaby up to BPAC (Brisbane Performing Arts Centre) as she was competing in the eisteddfod over the weekend.
With ballet you don't get to see a lot of the work that they do, week in week out so at these times it is where we get to see what they have been doing for the 20 odd hours a week when we drop them off to ballet practice.
Gaby's studio "Danielle's Studio of Dance" have open days once a term, where we can go and watch our children and see exactly what goes on from warm ups to cool downs etc....which is great!
BUT seeing the girls all in costume and makeup is even better.
Gaby has danced since she was 4years old starting at DDA (DiSalvotores Dance Academy) in Leeton. Then we moved to the Gold Coast. Gaby was 8. It took us a few years to find a studio that matched DDA, as most of the studios up here are all 'take your money and run' types of studios. We were so very lucky to of found Danielle's Studio of Dance where Gaby is now and it is like a 2nd family for her. Her teacher Miss Dani is just amazing and the girls all look up to her. (i cant leave out her other teacher Mr Martin - as i know he will be reading this - he turns a good day into a ever better day for the students and they all adore him. As do most of the mums... lol)
| Here is is just about to run off. |
| This is a great pic of her dancing. |
While us girls were up at dancing Jason took the boys Go Karting. They had wanted to go for ages but we kept putting it off. The cost was crazy. It was something like $60 for 20mins/80 laps. Then they had to also buy a license (how ridiculous) I think it ended up costing the 3 of them $240 for a 20min go!
Won't be doing that again in a hurry.
Then on Monday we walked across to Pacific Fair and took the kids to see The Dictator.
BAD MOVE. We should of walked out. Not appropriate for kids AT ALL!
What did you all get up to over your Long weekend?
I miss having the bonfire and crackers out in the country paddocks in the freezing cold down in Wagga, roasting marshmallows by the fire.

Absolutely beautiful shots of Gabby dancing, tell her she looks like an angel! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOur boys have done the go cart thing, I know what you mean about the cost, almost cheaper to go to the theme parks for the day!
I was thinking you must be very open minded, cause the Dictator is one of Sasha BC most full on movies yet!!! The kids probably loved it though???
I'm not missing the cold of Wagga just yet, but a bon fire and marshmallows does sound pretty good!
