Chantelle & her husband, Michael both are born and raised in Cairns. Michael is a professional soccer player and together they have traveled the world while Michael played soccer.
They decided to start a family and settle down in QLD just over 3 years ago. As being Queenslanders it was always a dream to return to the sunshine state.
Michael was playing with Melbourne and took up a 4 year contract with the then new A-league team, Gold Coast United in 2009. He was the Captain UNTIL it folded due to political reasons and they have had to pack up the kids, 3 year old Portia and 3 month old Madelene and move to Perth where Michael will play for Perth Glory.
I met Chantelle when she first came to me to have her nails done. Totally a WAG thing to do. lol
Chantelle is totally NOT the typical football wife. No aires and graces with this girl. Say it as it is.
It didn't take long for us to open up and get to know each other. You know how you just know someone is a great honest person.
Chantelle is generous, likable and a crazy mother. Her kids are extremely sleep trained and go to bed and wake up like clock work. Never have i seen it before. She needs to start her own blog really about "How to get your baby to sleep through from birth" etc....
Chantelle is a stenographer and well educated but plays that down way to much.
She is a crazy biatch!
Totally a Cairns bogan at heart.
In their last week on the coast they had been staying up in our apartment building (mind you on the 25th floor with ocean views)
We have spent extra time with them all and Michael has been a live in friend for the boys and has gone over to the oval most afternoons with them to have a kick.
Gaby was their babysitter and adored Miss Portia. We even got Portia to join ballet at Gaby's dance studio where she won hearts of many and was the youngest student there.
Portia loved to have her nails done too.
12 week old Madelene
Cheering Michael on at Skilled Park, Robina
Fridays paper farewell.
Portia giving me a big cheesy grin. (I brought her the beads when Chantelle was in hospital with Madelene)
Jack hasn't put the ball down. Pretty good for a boy who loves his rugby league
Michael gave the boys his playing ball. I asked him to sign it.
Generous Chantelle form: she sends me flowers because she is leaving.xxx
I brought her something to remind her of me. Looks like it did the job xxx
So for now it is "goodbye and goodluck" and lets hope you can all be back in the Sunshine State before to long.
Love & friendship always,
Pen x
HI Penny, ok it works now. Goodness knows what I did the first time. I just wanted to say hi on your blog after tweeting with you. Then I read this post. My bestest friend moved town a couple of years ago and I have an inkling of how you might feel. It is sad to say goodbye isn't it. Thank goodness for texts and skype etc. I am sure she will miss you too. Deb
